"Fill your life with adventures, not things. Have stories to tell, not stuff to show."
You've just read one of my favorite travel quotes of all time. I'm huge on allocating my extra cash towards creating memories instead of collecting things that rust, rot or depreciate.
HOWEVER, I still absolutely love fashion. So you'd think I would have myself a little dilemma, right?! But the thing is, I actually don't lose much money on clothes at all! In fact, I've actually made a small profit on some of my clothes! My secret? Thrifting! I try to do most of my clothes shopping through secondhand methods.
If you're willing to do a little searching, whether it's on eBay, Amazon, Goodwill, Plato's Closet etc., you can save tons of money buying used clothing and putting that extra cash towards your travel fund! I buy over 75% of my clothes used which has saved me thousands of dollars over the years!! I then try to only keep them for 2 years tops, and then I RESELL them while they're still in style back to eBay or at Plato's Closet. This method allows me to have an ever-changing closet, while only having to spend a minimum amount in the fashion category.
Here are just a couple fun finds to prove my point:
Not even kidding, I even bought my prom dress at a thrift store for $30 back in high school. Crazyyyyy right?! But I'm telling you, NICE THINGS ARE OUT THERE!
